U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has arrested Diego Alejandro Mavarez Arocha, a Venezuelan national convicted of sexual assault. The arrest follows Mavarez Arocha’s criminal conviction on charges involving a violent sexual offense.

According to ICE officials, Mavarez Arocha was convicted of sexual assault, a serious violent crime that resulted in his arrest by federal immigration authorities. Details about the specific circumstances of the offense have not been publicly disclosed, but authorities confirmed the conviction led to immigration enforcement action.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations took Mavarez Arocha into custody following completion of his criminal sentence. He is currently being held in federal immigration detention awaiting removal proceedings back to Venezuela. The agency states that foreign nationals convicted of violent crimes, particularly sexual offenses, face priority enforcement and expedited deportation.

“Protecting communities from violent offenders is a core mission of ICE,” an agency spokesman stated. The organization continues to target individuals with convictions for violent crimes including sexual assault for arrest and removal from the United States.

Mavarez Arocha’s case reflects federal immigration enforcement priorities focused on removing foreign nationals with serious criminal convictions. ICE works with local law enforcement and court systems to identify and apprehend convicted criminals following completion of their sentences.
