by G. George | July 31, 2025

ICE ERO Chicago officers working in Kentucky arrested 33-year-old Dongei Sailas, a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia, on immigration violations. Sailas, who was illegally present in the United States, has a lengthy criminal history that includes multiple convictions for serious offenses in Warren County, Kentucky.

Sailas has been convicted three separate times for driving under the influence, highlighting a dangerous pattern of behavior that put lives at risk. In addition to the DUI convictions, he was also found guilty of criminal mischief and wanton endangerment—both offenses that involve reckless or malicious actions with potential harm to others. His record further includes a conviction for driving with a suspended license, indicating a continued disregard for the law and court-imposed restrictions.

ICE officers located and arrested Sailas in July 2024, and he was placed into ICE custody without incident. His repeated violations and risk to public safety made him a priority for enforcement action. He will remain in ICE detention pending the outcome of removal proceedings.

This arrest removes a repeat offender from the streets while his immigration case proceeds through the appropriate legal channels.
