Dun Ping Zhang/China/Assault, Gang Assault, Criminal Possession Of A Weapon

Officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in New York City arrested Dun Ping Zhang, a violent criminal alien from China, following a targeted enforcement operation. Zhang has a significant criminal history, including convictions for two counts of assault, two counts of gang assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

An ICE spokesman stated, “Thanks to our officers, he will no longer present any danger to law abiding Americans.” Authorities noted that Zhang also has pending charges for strangulation and criminal mischief.

Zhang is currently detained in federal custody. He is subject to a final order of removal from the United States, which officials say should have been executed previously given his violent record. The arrest ensures that he remains in custody while the agency finalizes his deportation.
