Edgar Orlando Ferrer-Diaz
Edgar Orlando Ferrer-Diaz/Guatemala/Illegal Presence
ICE Salt Lake City arrested Edgar Orlando Ferrer-Diaz, a citizen of Guatemala and an illegal alien present in the United States. Ferrer-Diaz was taken into custody during a targeted enforcement operation focusing on foreign nationals who have violated U.S. immigration laws. He unlawfully entered the United States on an unknown date and did not present himself for inspection at any legal port of entry.
Ferrer-Diaz is not known to have legal status or authorization to remain in the U.S. and had not complied with immigration proceedings prior to his arrest. ICE officers encountered him during enforcement actions in Utah, where he was determined to be in violation of federal immigration law. His prior record shows no lawful entry documentation or efforts to adjust his status.
Following his apprehension, Ferrer-Diaz was processed and issued a notice to appear before an immigration judge. At this time, he remains in ICE custody while awaiting the outcome of his removal proceedings. ICE has confirmed that he does not qualify for any relief from removal due to his current immigration violations.
If the immigration court affirms his removability, Ferrer-Diaz will be deported to Guatemala in accordance with federal law. His case remains pending with the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
