ERO El Paso removed Edgar Rolando Sicajol-Lopez, 49, a citizen of Guatemala who was unlawfully present in the United States. According to the transfer packet, Sicajol-Lopez is a foreign fugitive wanted by Guatemalan authorities for gender-based violence. Deportation officers escorted him on a repatriation itinerary and turned him over to officials at La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City for any actions deemed appropriate under local law.

Foreign fugitive removals involve close coordination with the receiving country to ensure identity confirmation and lawful handoff on arrival. The case file typically includes a foreign arrest warrant or judicial process documents, biographic and biometric identifiers, and agency-to-agency correspondence confirming that the subject is sought in the requesting jurisdiction. Those materials accompany the individual to support immediate custody transfer and further proceedings by local authorities.

Prior to transport, officers completed biometric identity verification, documented immigration history, and assembled certified records required for removal under federal statute. Travel authorization was obtained from the Government of Guatemala, routing and security were arranged, and chain-of-custody logs were maintained from departure through arrival. Throughout the itinerary, officers followed standard protocols governing escort, medical clearance, and documentation of the transfer.

With the removal executed and custody transferred at La Aurora International Airport, the United States portion of the immigration case is concluded. Any criminal investigation or prosecution related to the gender-based violence allegation now proceeds under Guatemalan jurisdiction. The certified removal documentation and the foreign fugitive materials remain in the permanent immigration file for lawful information sharing and for any future admissibility determinations should Sicajol-Lopez seek entry at a later date.
