On May 6, 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) completed the removal of Elvis Isaac Aguirre Yanez, an Ecuadoran national wanted in his home country to face criminal charges. Aguirre Yanez was transferred to the custody of Ecuadoran authorities upon arrival and is expected to face prosecution for a pending rape case.

Aguirre Yanez had entered the United States unlawfully and was later identified by ICE as a foreign fugitive. Ecuadoran officials issued a criminal warrant for his arrest related to a rape investigation, prompting cooperation between international law enforcement and U.S. immigration authorities. ERO officers apprehended Aguirre Yanez after confirming his identity and outstanding charges.

On April 4, 2025, an immigration judge issued a final order of removal against Aguirre Yanez, determining he had no legal basis to remain in the country. He remained in ICE custody following the order and was scheduled for deportation under standard removal protocols.

ERO officers escorted Aguirre Yanez from the United States to Ecuador on May 6, where he was handed over to local authorities. His return to Ecuador was carried out without incident, and he was placed directly into the custody of law enforcement officials upon arrival. ICE confirmed that all removal procedures were completed in accordance with federal guidelines, and no legal appeals or stays of removal were in effect at the time of his departure.
