Esau Ochoa, a 29-year-old citizen of Mexico, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) San Diego following his release from local custody. Ochoa is an illegal alien with a criminal history that includes multiple convictions, notably for armed robbery and drug possession. His record also includes additional offenses such as battery and resisting arrest, reflecting a pattern of violent and unlawful conduct.

ICE officers acted on Ochoa’s known criminal background and immigration violations, taking him into custody in accordance with his prior removal order. Authorities confirmed that Ochoa had entered the United States illegally and has since committed a series of offenses that endangered the public and violated U.S. law.

Ochoa’s conviction for armed robbery stands out as particularly severe, involving the use of force or intimidation with a weapon during the commission of a theft. Combined with his drug possession and violent behavior, his record identifies him as a repeat offender whose presence in the country poses continued risk.

He will remain detained by ICE while removal proceedings are carried out. Due to the seriousness and repetition of his criminal conduct, Ochoa’s deportation is being pursued as a high priority to ensure he does not reenter U.S. communities.
