Felix Duran-Fernandez, a 47-year-old citizen of Mexico, was arrested by officers with ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Seattle as part of a coordinated law enforcement operation. Duran-Fernandez is illegally present in the United States and has a concerning pattern of criminal behavior involving multiple traffic-related offenses.

Local authorities in Washington previously arrested Duran-Fernandez for several serious violations, including multiple counts of driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, and an ignition interlock violation. These repeated offenses demonstrate a disregard for public safety and the legal requirements placed upon him by the court system. The ignition interlock violation suggests that even after being mandated to install a device preventing drunk driving, he failed to comply—further highlighting his risk to the community.

Due to the recurring nature of his offenses and his immigration status, Duran-Fernandez was taken into ICE custody following his latest arrest. ICE officers determined that his actions made him a priority for enforcement. After verifying his illegal presence and reviewing his criminal history, ERO Seattle moved quickly to detain him.

Duran-Fernandez is now being held in ICE custody pending immigration proceedings. His repeated offenses involving impaired and dangerous driving will be considered as removal proceedings move forward.
