Filemon Martinez-Medina

Filemon Martinez-Medina/Mexico/Aggravated Sexual Assault

by G. George | May 20, 2025

In May 2025, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) San Antonio arrested Filemon Martinez-Medina, a Mexican national with a prior conviction for aggravated sexual assault involving a 14-year-old child. Martinez-Medina had served a state prison sentence for the offense and was subject to a final order of removal issued several years ago. His arrest followed a targeted enforcement action focused on noncitizens with serious criminal histories and existing removal orders.

The case that led to his conviction originated in Texas after a report to law enforcement prompted an investigation into Martinez-Medina’s conduct involving a minor. He was arrested, charged, and ultimately convicted in state court. Following the completion of his prison sentence, an immigration judge ordered him removed from the United States, but Martinez-Medina remained in the country unlawfully and failed to depart as instructed.

In 2025, ICE located Martinez-Medina and took him into custody without incident. Officers confirmed his identity and removal status using law enforcement databases and fingerprint verification. He was transported to a secure ICE detention facility in Texas, where he remains pending deportation.

Due to the nature of his conviction and his prior failure to comply with immigration proceedings, Martinez-Medina is considered ineligible for relief from removal. His return to Mexico is expected to proceed following final processing.
