Franklin Oriel Fajardo-Arana/Honduras/DUI Manslaughter, DUI Warrant

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations New Orleans has placed an immigration detainer on Franklin Oriel Fajardo‑Arana, an illegal alien from Honduras, following his October 27 arrest by the Mobile Police Department in Alabama. Fajardo‑Arana is charged with DUI manslaughter in connection with a crash that killed a 16‑year‑old boy in Mobile.​

On October 26, officers responded to a collision involving a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota 4Runner in Mobile. The 4Runner, driven by Fajardo‑Arana, flipped onto its side, and a teenage passenger in his vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe Fajardo‑Arana was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.​

ERO New Orleans issued the detainer the same day to the Mobile County Metro Jail to ensure Fajardo‑Arana is transferred to ICE custody upon release from local detention. Further investigation revealed an active in‑state warrant from the Fairfield Police Department in Kentucky for a separate DUI offense, underscoring a pattern of impaired driving.
