Fredy Tzalam-Chub/Guatemala/Terroristic Threats
In May 2025, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans arrested Fredy Tzalam-Chub, a Guatemalan national with a violent criminal record, during a targeted operation in Arkansas. Tzalam-Chub had previously entered the United States unlawfully and was identified by ICE as a priority for enforcement due to multiple serious convictions involving domestic violence and public safety threats.
Tzalam-Chub’s criminal history includes convictions for aggravated assault, first-degree terroristic threatening, third-degree domestic battery, second-degree assault on a family member, and interfering with emergency communications. These charges stemmed from a series of incidents in which he physically assaulted individuals in a domestic setting, threatened victims with serious harm, and prevented them from contacting authorities during the assaults. Local law enforcement agencies in Arkansas documented multiple reports connected to his behavior, resulting in his arrest and prosecution on several occasions between 2021 and 2024.
Following the completion of his most recent sentence, ICE lodged a detainer to assume custody. Tzalam-Chub was transferred to ICE custody without incident and processed at a detention facility in Louisiana. He does not have legal immigration status and has not filed any pending applications for relief. An immigration judge is expected to proceed with formal removal proceedings.
Tzalam-Chub remains in ICE custody and will be detained throughout the duration of his case.
