Gabriel Sosa-Quiroz
Gabriel Sosa-Quiroz/Mexico/Hit And Run, DUI
Officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Harlingen arrested Gabriel Sosa-Quiroz, a 45-year-old convicted felon from Mexico, as part of an effort to prioritize the removal of criminal aliens. Sosa-Quiroz had previously been convicted of hit and run and driving under the influence (DUI), offenses authorities cited as evidence of his disregard for public safety laws.
Demonstrating the agency’s capability for rapid enforcement, officers deported Sosa-Quiroz to Mexico on the same day he was apprehended. An ICE spokesman addressed the operation’s success with a direct message to other offenders: “Criminal illegal aliens, ICE is coming for you.”
Officials emphasized that the agency remains focused on identifying and removing noncitizens who pose a danger to the community through criminal behavior. The swift removal of Sosa-Quiroz underscores ICE’s operational mandate to enforce federal immigration laws against those with felony convictions.
