Geovanni Turcious/El Salvador/Burglary

Geovanni Turcious, a citizen of El Salvador, was arrested by ERO New Orleans officers following his identification as a criminal alien residing unlawfully in the United States. Turcious has a prior conviction for burglary of habitation, a serious felony offense that involves unlawful entry into a dwelling with the intent to commit a crime. His criminal record flagged him for immigration enforcement actions, and he was taken into custody by ICE personnel during a targeted operation.

The arrest occurred after officers confirmed his prior conviction and unlawful presence in the country. Turcious had no legal authorization to remain in the United States and did not qualify for any immigration relief. He had previously avoided detection despite his criminal background until officers with ERO New Orleans successfully located and apprehended him without incident.

At the time of his arrest, Turcious was reportedly wearing a shirt that read “Just Do It”—a statement noted by officers as ironic given the operation’s successful execution. Upon arrest, Turcious was processed and placed into ICE custody pending formal removal proceedings.

ICE officers prioritized this case due to the severity of the underlying felony conviction. Burglary of habitation is a violent property crime that can pose significant risks to public safety, especially when carried out by individuals with no legal status in the United States.
