Gregory Pierre/Haiti/Hit and Run

Haitian national Gregory Pierre was arrested in Mount Clemens, Michigan, on a hit-and-run charge after a pedestrian was struck and the driver left the scene. According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around nightfall to a report of a person hit in the roadway and quickly determined the involved vehicle had fled before first responders arrived. Investigators used witness statements and vehicle evidence to identify Pierre as the suspected driver, leading to his arrest and transport to the county jail for booking on the hit-and-run allegation.​

Officials have not publicly detailed Pierre’s immigration status, but records show he is a Haitian national and that the case remains under active review as detectives finish reconstructing the crash. At this stage, no conviction has been reported on the current charge, and Pierre remains presumed innocent while prosecutors decide how to proceed in court.
