Guadalupe Antonio Lugo-Ramirez, 41, a citizen of Mexico and an illegal alien in the United States, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers in Brownsville, Texas, on June 11. Lugo-Ramirez is a foreign fugitive with an outstanding arrest warrant in Mexico, where he is wanted for the crime of rape. ICE officers apprehended him as part of an operation targeting individuals who not only violated U.S. immigration law but are also wanted by foreign law enforcement for serious criminal offenses.

According to records, Lugo-Ramirez entered the United States illegally on an unknown date and had no lawful immigration status permitting him to remain in the country. ICE coordinated with international authorities to confirm the active warrant for his arrest in Mexico, which stems from a rape investigation. He was taken into custody without incident and processed for removal as a fugitive alien with a known criminal record abroad.

Following his arrest, Lugo-Ramirez was placed into ICE detention, where he will remain pending final arrangements for his deportation to Mexico. His removal will be carried out in coordination with Mexican law enforcement officials, who are expected to take custody of him upon return to face the pending rape charge.
