Hilario Enrique Camacho-Rubio, 33, a citizen of Mexico and an illegal alien present in the United States, was arrested by ICE Harlingen officers following a pattern of violent and serious criminal behavior. Camacho-Rubio has an extensive criminal record that includes convictions for evading arrest, assault on a public servant, and assault. Most notably, he was convicted of the sexual assault of a child, a crime that carries significant weight in ICE’s enforcement priorities due to the grave harm inflicted on vulnerable victims.

According to public records, Camacho-Rubio’s criminal acts span multiple jurisdictions and involve both resistance to law enforcement and direct harm to others. His conviction for assault on a public servant stemmed from an incident where he physically attacked a law enforcement officer during the course of an arrest. His sexual assault of a child conviction resulted in his previous removal from the United States after serving time in custody.

Despite being deported, Camacho-Rubio unlawfully reentered the U.S., violating federal law under Title 8 U.S. Code § 1326. He was taken into custody without incident and is now facing new criminal charges for illegal reentry. ICE has confirmed that Camacho-Rubio will remain in detention pending the outcome of both his immigration and criminal proceedings.

Given his prior convictions and current unlawful presence in the country, Camacho-Rubio has been identified as a priority for removal and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent under federal law.
