Hiruy Alexander Armendariz-Armendariz/Mexico/Sexual Assault

In May 2025, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Houston arrested Hiruy Alexander Armendariz-Armendariz, a Mexican national with a felony conviction for sexual assault in Kerr County, Texas. Armendariz-Armendariz had been previously incarcerated following his conviction and was transferred to ICE custody immediately upon his release from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

His conviction arose from a 2022 case in which local law enforcement charged him with sexually assaulting an adult victim. The investigation led to his arrest, prosecution, and conviction under Texas state law. He was sentenced to serve time in state prison and required to register as a sex offender.

ERO Houston identified Armendariz-Armendariz as a removable noncitizen during the course of his incarceration. An immigration detainer was lodged with Kerr County authorities to ensure he would be turned over to ICE once his sentence was completed. Upon his release in 2025, ICE officers transported him to a secure detention facility.

At the time of his arrest, Armendariz-Armendariz had no lawful immigration status and no pending applications for legal relief. He is now in ICE custody awaiting removal proceedings before an immigration judge. Due to the serious nature of his criminal conviction, he will remain detained while officials coordinate his deportation to Mexico.
