Ho Kai Tam/China/Sexual Misconduct

by G. George | June 11, 2025

Ho Kai Tam, a twice-convicted criminal alien and registered sex offender from China, was arrested in Williamsville, New York, by ICE Buffalo officers. Tam’s criminal history in the United States includes convictions for both mail fraud and sexual misconduct. He had previously been ordered removed by an immigration judge, and his current apprehension follows ongoing efforts by ICE to locate and detain individuals who pose a threat due to their criminal records.

Tam’s conviction for sexual misconduct led to his registration as a sex offender, and the additional conviction for mail fraud further underscored a pattern of unlawful behavior. Authorities located him living in the community despite his final order of removal. Following his arrest, Tam was taken into ICE custody without incident and is now pending deportation proceedings.

Given his existing removal order, Tam does not qualify for release while his case is processed. ICE officials are coordinating with the appropriate agencies to arrange his return to China. His removal will be carried out in compliance with federal procedures and existing immigration law. ICE continues its efforts to detain and remove noncitizens who have been convicted of serious crimes, especially those involving violence, fraud, or offenses against vulnerable individuals.
