Hoang Nguyen/Vietnam/Molesting a Child, Lewd Acts With a Child, Failure to Register as Sex Offender

Hoang Nguyen, a citizen of Vietnam, is one of four undocumented migrants with prior child‑sex convictions arrested by ICE San Diego officers on September 25. Nguyen had previously been convicted in California of molesting a child and committing lewd acts with a child, offenses that require him to register as a sex offender under state law.​

Authorities report that Nguyen also has a conviction for failing to register as a sex offender, indicating noncompliance with court‑ordered monitoring requirements intended to protect the public. He was taken into ICE custody in the San Diego area and is now pending removal proceedings based on both his unlawful presence and his history of sexual offenses against a minor.​
