Homero Bordas/Dominican Republic/Kidnapping

ICE New Orleans has deported Homero Bordas, a citizen of the Dominican Republic, following the completion of his prison sentence and immigration proceedings. Bordas, who had been unlawfully present in the United States, was previously convicted of kidnapping—a serious and violent offense that resulted in a seven-year prison sentence.

The conviction stemmed from a case in which Bordas forcibly held another individual against their will, a crime that endangered the victim and reflected a clear threat to public safety. His conviction was handled through the state criminal justice system, after which immigration authorities assumed custody.

After serving his sentence, Bordas was transferred to ICE custody and placed into removal proceedings. Immigration authorities reviewed his file and confirmed that his conviction qualified as a deportable offense under U.S. immigration law. He was issued a final removal order and subsequently deported to the Dominican Republic.

Bordas’s deportation is part of ICE’s continuing efforts to ensure that individuals who commit serious criminal offenses are removed from the country once they have served their sentences. He was deported via commercial flight under escort and turned over to Dominican officials upon arrival.
