Iounut Andrei Stamatin/Romania/Child Sex Offenses

On Jan. 11, ICE ERO Boston officers arrested Iounut Andrei Stamatin, a criminal alien from Romania, in connection with a series of serious child sex offense charges. According to charging documents, Stamatin is accused of felony pay for sexual conduct with a child under 18 and felony enticement of a child under 16, reflecting allegations that he sought to exploit minors for sexual purposes.​

Prosecutors have also filed an additional count of attempt to commit a crime, tied to conduct they say demonstrates clear intent to carry out the charged offenses even when the acts were not completed. A law enforcement spokesman said Stamatin is now in immigration custody while removal proceedings advance alongside his criminal case in state court.
