Jamie Manual Perez Perez/El Salvador/Aggravated Extortion, Threats to Injure
ICE Homeland Security Investigations New York arrested 42‑year‑old Salvadoran national Jamie Manual Perez Perez, an alleged MS‑13 associate, on September 3 in Brentwood, Long Island. Investigators discovered that he had been living just steps from a local middle school after entering the United States illegally years earlier.
Perez Perez was wanted in El Salvador and by Interpol on a Red Notice for aggravated extortion and threats to injure a person, charges tied to gang‑related crimes he allegedly committed in his home country. HSI New York, working with ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, took him into custody following a coordinated vehicle stop.
U.S. Border Patrol originally apprehended Perez Perez near El Paso, Texas, on April 15, 2019, after he crossed the border without admission or inspection, issuing him a notice to appear and placing him in removal proceedings with an individual hearing set for February 2026. He now remains in ICE custody pending removal from the United States.
