Jan Aguilar/Honduras/Aggravated Assault with Bodily Injury
Jan Aguilar, a citizen of Honduras, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans following his involvement in a violent criminal offense. Aguilar, who is illegally present in the United States, has a criminal record that includes a conviction for aggravated assault with bodily injury—a serious offense indicating the use of force that resulted in harm to another person. This type of violent conduct places him among the higher priority cases for immigration enforcement due to the threat such individuals pose to public safety.
Aguilar was located and apprehended during a targeted enforcement operation led by ERO officers operating out of the New Orleans Field Office. His arrest underscores ICE’s ongoing focus on identifying and detaining criminal illegal aliens who have committed offenses involving violence or endangerment of others. Following his conviction, Aguilar was turned over to immigration authorities for further processing.
He is currently in ICE custody and will face immigration proceedings before an immigration judge. Given his criminal conviction and unlawful presence in the country, Aguilar is expected to remain in detention throughout the course of his removal process. His arrest forms part of ICE’s continued prioritization of individuals who have engaged in violent criminal acts while illegally residing in the United States.
