Jesus Ramon Estrada-Ivarguen, a citizen of Mexico and an illegal alien in the United States, was arrested this morning in a coordinated operation led by HSI Denver agents, intelligence analysts, and officers from ERO Denver. Estrada-Ivarguen’s apprehension comes as part of ongoing efforts to target violent gang members and individuals with significant criminal histories who pose threats to public safety.

Estrada-Ivarguen is a documented member of the Sureños, a notorious transnational street gang known for violent activities, drug trafficking, and widespread criminal influence across many U.S. communities. His gang affiliation raises the stakes of his presence in the United States, given the group’s reputation for organized criminal operations and violent turf wars that endanger innocent lives.

In addition to his gang ties, Estrada-Ivarguen has criminal convictions for assault and auto theft, two serious offenses reflecting a pattern of violent and property crimes. Assault convictions suggest involvement in acts that threatened or inflicted harm on others, while auto theft indicates participation in crimes that disrupt public order and lead to financial losses for victims. Such crimes not only harm individuals directly affected but also erode the sense of safety within communities.

After his arrest, Estrada-Ivarguen was placed in ICE custody to ensure he remains detained while his removal proceedings are underway. Given his criminal history and gang involvement, his case will likely be prioritized for enforcement action.

He will remain in ICE custody pending the outcome of his immigration proceedings, during which an immigration judge will decide whether he should be removed from the United States. His arrest serves as a reminder of the continued vigilance of law enforcement in identifying, apprehending, and removing individuals who pose a significant risk to community safety and national security.
