Jonas Melkis Guevara-Medrano/El Salvador/Homicide, Gang Activity

Los Angeles-based Enforcement and Removal Operations officers arrested 29-year-old Salvadoran national Jonas Melkis Guevara-Medrano on December 1 during a targeted operation.

Authorities have identified him as a member of the MS-13 transnational gang and report that he is wanted in El Salvador for homicide, making him a high-priority foreign fugitive.​

Guevara-Medrano was located in the Los Angeles area and taken into ICE custody without incident, where he now awaits removal proceedings.

Officials state that his arrest is part of broader efforts to locate and remove MS-13 members and other violent criminal aliens who have entered or remained in the United States unlawfully, and they are coordinating with Salvadoran authorities to facilitate his return to face the pending homicide case.​
