Officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Boston arrested Jorge Alberto Menjivar, a criminal alien from El Salvador, on December 1 during an enforcement action targeting violent offenders. ICE records show Menjivar was previously convicted on three counts of aggravated rape of a child, as well as rape of a child by force, intimidation of a witness, and assault and battery.

Officials said officers located Menjivar at his residence and took him into custody without incident. An ICE spokesman stated, “This case underscores our focus on apprehending noncitizens whose serious criminal histories endanger vulnerable victims and communities.”

Menjivar is being held in federal custody while ICE initiates removal proceedings in coordination with pending state-level obligations tied to his convictions. Authorities stressed that individuals convicted of sexual offenses against children and efforts to intimidate witnesses are treated as high-priority cases for immigration enforcement. ICE Boston reported that the arrest is part of ongoing operations across the region aimed at identifying, arresting, and removing criminal aliens with histories of violent and sexual offenses.
