Jorge Nadal/Cuba/Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Cocaine Possession, Simple Burglary

by G. George | August 23, 2025

ICE New Orleans arrested Jorge Nadal, a citizen of Cuba who is unlawfully present in the United States. According to court records, Nadal’s criminal history includes possession with intent to distribute cocaine, three separate convictions for cocaine possession, and a conviction for simple burglary. He was taken into custody in the New Orleans area and processed for immigration detention while his administrative case moves forward before an immigration judge.

Possession with intent to distribute is charged when evidence shows drugs were held for sale rather than personal use. Investigators typically document quantity sufficient for resale, packaging materials, scales, pay-owe records, and communications coordinating deliveries or pickups. Cocaine possession convictions are commonly supported by laboratory analysis, chain-of-custody documentation, and circumstances proving knowledge and control of the substance. The simple burglary conviction reflects unlawful entry into a building with the intent to commit an additional offense inside; proof often includes surveillance video, forced-entry indicators, and recovery logs for stolen property.

Following apprehension, officers completed biometric identity verification, compiled certified judgment and sentencing documents, and reviewed Nadal’s immigration history for presentation in court. He remains detained while the case proceeds on the immigration track, which is separate from the concluded criminal matters. If a final order of removal is issued, officials will coordinate travel documentation with the receiving government and arrange transportation in accordance with federal procedures. Until then, custody determinations follow federal statute and applicable regulations governing detention for noncitizens with recent felony drug and property convictions.
