ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Philadelphia removed 31-year-old Salvadoran national Jose Alberto Zamora-Zamora, known as “Pirana,” to El Salvador on August 15 after determining he was a high-risk foreign fugitive and MS-13 clique leader. Authorities describe him as a leader of the MS-13 Fulton Locos Salvatruchos clique and list him among El Salvador’s top 100 most wanted gang members.

Zamora-Zamora is wanted in El Salvador for numerous violent offenses, including aggravated kidnapping, illicit association, attempted aggravated homicide, aggravated extortion, aggravated homicide, aggravated deprivation of liberty, participation in terrorist organizations, and conspiracy to murder. He was apprehended by ERO Philadelphia after completing a 24‑month federal sentence for unlawful reentry at FCI Allenwood Low, having previously been removed from the United States in December 2022 before illegally returning.

An ICE spokesman said his removal shows that foreign fugitives who come to the U.S. to evade justice “will be found, arrested, and removed,” emphasizing cooperation with U.S. Marshals, INTERPOL, and ERO New Orleans in the operation.
