Jose Aringa-Ramirez/Mexico/DWI, Resisting Arrest

On July 15, 2025, ICE Dallas arrested Jose Aringa-Ramirez, a 58-year-old citizen and national of Mexico, following his identification as a previously deported illegal alien with a serious criminal record, including a conviction for sexually assaulting a child. Aringa-Ramirez is a registered sex offender in the United States, and his conviction qualifies as an aggravated felony under U.S. immigration law, resulting in mandatory detention and permanent inadmissibility to the country.

The sexual assault of a child conviction involves the unlawful and forcible sexual abuse of a minor and is considered one of the most severe categories of criminal offenses in both the criminal justice and immigration systems. Individuals convicted of such crimes are barred from nearly all forms of immigration relief and subject to expedited removal.

In addition to the child sexual assault conviction, Aringa-Ramirez’s criminal history includes resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated—both offenses that further illustrate a pattern of disregard for public safety and law enforcement authority. ICE records also confirm that he has been previously removed from the United States and has since reentered the country unlawfully on at least two separate occasions, resulting in two convictions for illegal reentry. Illegal reentry after removal is a federal felony offense, and multiple convictions elevate the seriousness of the immigration violations.

Aringa-Ramirez was taken into ICE custody without incident and remains detained pending the outcome of his immigration proceedings. Due to the nature of his convictions and repeated immigration violations, ICE will pursue his removal from the United States under a reinstated order of removal.
