Jose Gerber-Rivera/El Salvador/Child Sexual Assault

Jose Gerber‑Rivera is a 45‑year‑old Salvadoran national charged in Texas with repeatedly sexually assaulting a 12‑year‑old girl in the Houston area. Investigators state that the child, who had been brought illegally into the United States as a minor and placed in a sponsor household, was victimized over an extended period before the abuse came to light.​

According to Homeland Security Investigations Houston and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Rivera was arrested on November 4 in The Woodlands, Texas, with assistance from local constable deputies. He now faces serious felony counts related to the alleged sexual assaults and remains in local custody while both the criminal case and associated immigration matters move forward.​
