Jose Guadalupe Garza/Mexico/Aggravated Assault

by kyle | February 01, 2025

On January 27, 2025, ICE Houston arrested Jose Guadalupe Garza, a citizen of Mexico.

Garza was convicted of aggravated assault with deadly weapon and sentenced to three years.

In a similar case, on February 5, 2025, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Houston, in coordination with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, arrested 52-year-old Mexican national David Gonzalez-Martinez during a routine operation in Houston, Texas.

Gonzalez-Martinez is a three-time previously deported criminal alien currently wanted in Harris County for aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. His arrest followed the issuance of an immigration detainer by ICE, requesting notification prior to any potential release from local custody.

Gonzalez-Martinez has a history of illegal entries into the United States, having been removed to Mexico by U.S. immigration officials in September 2001, July 2008, and April 2015.

While unlawfully present in the U.S., he has been convicted of several criminal offenses, including voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault with a weapon, possession of marijuana, and illegal reentry. His repeated violations of U.S. immigration and criminal laws have made him a priority for ICE enforcement actions.

Following his arrest, Gonzalez-Martinez was booked into the Harris County Jail. ICE has lodged an immigration detainer to ensure he remains in custody pending the outcome of his criminal proceedings and subsequent immigration enforcement actions.
