Jose Julio Granados/El Salvador/Rape, Drug Possession

by G. George | July 24, 2025

On July 2025, ICE Washington, D.C. arrested Jose Julio Granados, an illegal alien from El Salvador, following his criminal involvement in serious offenses. Granados has been charged with rape (strongarm), a violent and coercive act involving physical force, as well as drug possession. These charges classify him as a high-risk offender and place him among ICE’s top enforcement priorities.

Granados was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held in ICE detention pending the outcome of his removal proceedings. Offenses involving sexual violence are regarded as egregious crimes in immigration law, triggering mandatory detention and eliminating eligibility for most immigration benefits.

The rape charge involving force or intimidation elevates the severity of the case, especially when paired with illegal drug activity. These elements reinforce ICE’s decision to prioritize his arrest to safeguard the public and ensure he does not reoffend while in the country unlawfully.

ICE officers are working with local law enforcement to monitor the status of Granados’s criminal case while immigration proceedings move forward. Once his case is resolved, he will face deportation to El Salvador under federal immigration law.

Granados remains in ICE custody at this time.
