Jose Lorenzo
Jose Lorenzo/Mexico/Sexual Assault
ICE San Francisco arrested Jose Lorenzo, a twenty five year old citizen of Mexico who is unlawfully present in the United States. Court records show a felony conviction for sexual assault, for which Lorenzo served a three year prison sentence. After completing his state sentence, he was transferred to federal immigration custody. He will remain detained while his case moves forward in immigration court.
Sexual assault convictions are treated as serious offenses in both criminal and immigration systems. In Lorenzo’s case, the judgment entered by the court established his guilt and resulted in a custodial term followed by transfer to immigration authorities for processing. The facts of the criminal matter were resolved in state court, and those certified records now form the basis of the immigration file.
During intake, officers confirmed identity through biometrics, collected certified copies of the judgment and sentencing orders, and reviewed immigration history. Lorenzo is awaiting hearings before an immigration judge, where custody status and removability will be addressed under federal law. If a final order of removal is issued, officials will coordinate travel documentation with the Government of Mexico and arrange transportation in line with standard procedures. Until that process is complete, he will remain in ICE detention under the governing custody determination.
