On February 12, 2025, ICE New York arrested Jose Perez, a Mexican national, for violation of 8 USC 1326 (a) and (b)(2) Reentry After Deportation.

This case is being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.

A detainer has also been lodged.

Perez was previously removed to Mexico in 2013 after being convicted of Robbery in the 3rd, by the Supreme Court of the State of New York.

On February 14th, U.S. immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) reports a similar story, of Humberto Romero Avila, a 45-year-old Paisas gang member and foreign fugitive, who was deported on February 13th.

He entered the U.S. illegally 10 different times starting in 2002, and the latest being early 2024.

He’s had multiple charges, which include homicide (in Mexico), illegal entry of the U.S. border, larceny, and 3 offenses of DWI.
