Josue Isaac Martinez-Cameros

Josue Isaac Martinez-Cameros/Guatemala/Assault

by G. George | June 20, 2025

ICE Salt Lake City arrested Josue Isaac Martinez-Cameros, a citizen of Guatemala and an illegal alien present in the United States. Martinez-Cameros was taken into custody during targeted enforcement operations aimed at identifying and detaining foreign nationals with criminal histories and immigration violations. ICE records show he entered the U.S. without inspection and has no lawful immigration status.

Martinez-Cameros has criminal convictions for both adultery and assault. While adultery is rarely prosecuted in the U.S., it remains a criminal offense in some jurisdictions and can be considered a factor in immigration proceedings depending on the circumstances. His assault conviction further complicates his case, as it is categorized as a crime involving moral turpitude, making him subject to removal under federal immigration law.

Following his arrest, Martinez-Cameros was processed at an ICE detention facility and served with a notice to appear before an immigration judge. He will remain in ICE custody pending the outcome of his removal proceedings. ICE officers have reviewed his file and determined that he does not qualify for immigration relief or adjustment of status.

The Executive Office for Immigration Review will determine the next steps in his case, and if ordered removed, ICE will coordinate repatriation with Guatemalan authorities.
