Juan Padilla, a citizen of Honduras and illegal alien, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) New Orleans as part of an ongoing effort to target and remove criminal aliens with violent histories. Padilla’s record includes multiple serious offenses that present a significant threat to public safety. He has been convicted of illegal carrying of a weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance classified as a Schedule I narcotic, and illegal discharge of a firearm. His conviction for firearm discharge led to a five-year prison sentence.

Padilla was previously encountered by law enforcement and placed into removal proceedings following his criminal convictions. ICE officers conducted targeted enforcement actions that resulted in his recent apprehension. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently being detained pending immigration proceedings.

As a repeat offender involved in both drug and weapons crimes, Padilla’s arrest represents ICE’s focus on identifying individuals who not only violate immigration law but also pose an ongoing danger to communities through violent or narcotics-related activity. His prior convictions and prison time highlight a history of criminal behavior that made him a priority for arrest and removal.
