Junior Alejandro Chan Lopez/Honduras/Aggravated Assault

by G. George | July 28, 2025

Junior Alejandro Chan Lopez, a citizen of Honduras and convicted felon, was deported by ICE New Orleans officers following the completion of his sentence and immigration proceedings. Chan Lopez was previously convicted in the United States for aggravated assault, a violent offense that led to a two-year prison sentence.

ICE identified Chan Lopez as an enforcement priority due to the nature of his criminal conviction. After serving his sentence in a U.S. correctional facility, he was immediately taken into ICE custody and placed in removal proceedings. Officials confirmed that Chan Lopez had no legal right to remain in the country and was subject to removal under federal immigration law.

Chan Lopez was deported without incident and transferred to Honduran authorities upon his return. His aggravated assault conviction reflects a history of violent behavior that U.S. immigration authorities deemed a threat to public safety. Because of his felony offense and removal, he is now permanently barred from reentering the United States.
