Kamar Cunningham/Canada/Firearms Trafficking

by G. George | May 26, 2025

In May 2025, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Atlanta apprehended Kamar Cunningham, a Canadian national unlawfully present in the United States and listed among Canada’s Top 25 Most Wanted fugitives. Cunningham was arrested in Brookhaven, Georgia, during a targeted enforcement operation led by HSI with support from international law enforcement agencies.

Cunningham is a convicted firearms trafficker and an alleged member of the 5PG gang, a violent criminal organization involved in illegal weapons distribution and gang activity across multiple jurisdictions. Canadian authorities had been actively searching for him in connection with several high-profile cases involving the illegal sale and transport of firearms. He had been featured on Canada’s national most-wanted list due to the seriousness of his criminal history and his efforts to evade capture.

After receiving intelligence regarding his possible presence in Georgia, HSI agents located and arrested Cunningham without incident. He was taken into custody based on his immigration violations and pending foreign criminal charges. Investigators also recovered documents and electronic devices during his arrest that may support ongoing international investigations.

Cunningham had entered the United States unlawfully and did not hold any valid immigration status at the time of his arrest. He is currently being held in ICE custody while removal proceedings are initiated. ICE officials are coordinating with Canadian authorities to arrange for his return to face prosecution in Canada.
