Khin Than/Burma/Possession of Burglary Tools, Obstructing Police

Burmese national Khin Zaw Than was arrested by federal immigration authorities in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Than was previously convicted of vehicle theft, obstructing police, and possession of burglary tools. Federal records also indicate Than has faced charges related to drug possession.

Minnesota court records reflect Than’s criminal history, including a stay of imposition on a felony conviction from Dakota County and a stay of execution of sentence on a felony conviction from Ramsey County. According to DHS documentation, Than was subject to immigration enforcement during Operation Metro Surge. Immigration and Customs Enforcement took Than into custody based on his outstanding criminal convictions and removal eligibility.
