Kristian Hernandez Aguilar/Honduras/Unlawful Reentry

Kristian Hernandez Aguilar, a Honduras national living in the country illegally, was taken into custody by ICE agents in Oxford, Wisconsin, on charges of unlawful reentry.

Unlawful reentry after a prior deportation is a federal felony — significantly more serious than the misdemeanor of initial illegal entry. Federal prosecutors treat reentry cases as priority enforcement matters, with the prior removal order serving as a key element of the prosecution. Aguilar faces federal criminal sentencing on the reentry count alongside reinstatement of the original removal order.
