Kyon Dane McDonald/Jamaica/Voluntary Manslaughter

ICE New Orleans deported Kyon Dane McDonald, a citizen and national of Jamaica, on July 11, 2025, following the completion of his prison sentence and subsequent removal proceedings based on a violent felony conviction in the United States. According to ICE records, McDonald was convicted of voluntary manslaughter, a serious offense involving the unlawful killing of another person without premeditation, typically committed in the heat of passion or during a sudden conflict. As a result of the conviction, McDonald was sentenced to 120 months in jail.

Voluntary manslaughter is classified as a violent crime and an aggravated felony under U.S. immigration law. Noncitizens convicted of such offenses are subject to mandatory detention and are generally ineligible for relief from removal. These types of convictions carry permanent immigration consequences, including lifetime bars to reentry into the United States.

ICE has not released additional details regarding the circumstances of the killing, the jurisdiction in which the offense occurred, or whether McDonald had any additional criminal history or prior immigration violations. Following the completion of his 10-year sentence, he was transferred to ICE custody to begin the removal process. As of the latest report, McDonald has been deported to Jamaica in accordance with the final order of removal issued by an immigration judge.
