Laurentino Santiago, 41, a citizen of Mexico, was arrested by ICE New Orleans officers following a review of his extensive criminal history and unlawful presence in the United States. Santiago has been arrested and convicted on a range of violent and public safety-related offenses across multiple jurisdictions, making him a priority for immigration enforcement action.

His criminal record includes a conviction for aggravated battery in which he assaulted an individual with a dangerous object during an altercation. He has also been charged and convicted of assault and battery in separate incidents involving domestic violence and public confrontations. Santiago violated the terms of his probation after an earlier conviction, prompting additional legal consequences.

In addition to violent offenses, Santiago’s record includes multiple public endangerment and traffic-related violations. These include a DUI offense, reckless endangerment while driving, disorderly conduct, and operating a vehicle with a suspended license. These actions demonstrated a continued disregard for both state laws and public safety.

Following his arrest by ICE, Santiago was placed into immigration detention where he will remain pending a hearing before an immigration judge. Officers confirmed that Santiago had entered the U.S. without inspection and had no legal status to remain in the country. His removal proceedings are now underway.
