On February 19th, 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Chicago arrested Ma Yang (Pictured), a citizen of Laos. Yang has been convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 100 kilograms or more of marijuana and sentenced to 30 months in prison.
Also on the 19th, ICE Denver arrested Ender Jose Roa Contreras, a 29-year-old suspected member of the Tren de Aragua gang.
Roa Contreras, a citizen of El Salvador, was apprehended during a routine ICE enforcement operation. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of a firearm.
TdA, originally from Venezuela, is notorious for its violent activities, including drug trafficking and other criminal offenses, primarily in Latin America. ICE’s operation reflects its broader efforts to target dangerous individuals, particularly those affiliated with violent gangs that pose a threat to U.S. communities.
The arrest highlights ICE’s commitment to removing public safety threats from the country and upholding immigration laws. Roa Contreras, now in ICE custody, is facing deportation proceedings, pending further investigation.
