Marco Cabrera/Dominican Republic/Heroin, Fentanyl, Carfentanil Distribution

ICE New Orleans’ Oakdale, Louisiana sub-office arrested Marco Cabrera, a citizen of the Dominican Republic. Records show serious drug convictions including possession with intent to distribute more than one kilogram of heroin, more than 400 grams of fentanyl, and over 100 grams of carfentanil. Cabrera was located in the Oakdale area, taken into custody by enforcement officers, and booked into immigration detention. He remains in custody pending removal proceedings before an immigration judge.

Heroin, fentanyl, and carfentanil are all classified as highly dangerous controlled substances. The quantities recorded in Cabrera’s case point to distribution-level activity rather than personal use. In particular, fentanyl and carfentanil are linked to overdose deaths in very small amounts, and the weight thresholds here fall under enhanced sentencing provisions for large-scale trafficking. His prior case records document the length of sentence imposed as well as the associated forfeiture and restitution orders that were part of prosecution.

During intake, officers verified identity through biometrics and confirmed immigration history. Certified copies of the judgment and sentencing documents have been added to the administrative file for use in immigration court. Cabrera will remain detained while his removal proceedings move forward.
