Mark Anthony Jones/Guyana/Sexual Abuse

by G. George | June 30, 2025

Mark Anthony Jones, a 46-year-old citizen of Guyana and an illegal alien in the United States, was deported by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans following a serious conviction for 1st degree felony sexual abuse. Jones had been residing in the U.S. without legal status and came to the attention of authorities due to his criminal conduct.

Jones was convicted in a U.S. court of sexually abusing a female victim in a case involving force and coercion. According to court records, the incident involved prolonged abuse and was classified as a violent felony due to the use of threats and physical intimidation. The victim, whose identity remains confidential, cooperated with law enforcement during the investigation, leading to Jones’s arrest and conviction.

After serving a prison sentence for the felony sexual offense, Jones was turned over to ICE custody. He had no lawful immigration status and had not applied for any relief from removal. ICE officials reviewed his case and determined that, due to the violent nature of his crime, he was a high priority for deportation.

ERO New Orleans coordinated with Guyanese authorities to facilitate his removal. On the day of deportation, Jones was placed on a commercial flight under escort and successfully removed from the U.S. to Guyana, where he was transferred to local law enforcement officials for further monitoring.

He is now permanently barred from re-entering the United States.
