Marlon Josuel Cruz Fernandez/Dominican Republic/Homicide

On May 19, 2025, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New York City arrested Marlon Josuel Cruz Fernandez, a Dominican national unlawfully present in the United States and wanted in his home country for homicide. Cruz Fernandez was apprehended in New Rochelle, New York, during a coordinated enforcement action that involved multiple federal agencies.

The arrest was carried out by ICE officers and special agents assigned to ICE’s Newburgh office, working in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Cruz Fernandez was taken into custody without incident pursuant to a warrant of arrest issued based on his status as a foreign fugitive.

According to information provided by Dominican authorities, Cruz Fernandez is the subject of an active arrest warrant in the Dominican Republic for his alleged involvement in a homicide case. U.S. immigration officials became aware of his fugitive status through international law enforcement channels, prompting ICE and its federal partners to locate and apprehend him for removal.

Cruz Fernandez entered the United States without authorization and did not have any lawful immigration status at the time of his arrest. Following his apprehension, he was transported to an ICE detention facility in New York, where he remains in custody. ICE has initiated removal proceedings and will coordinate with Dominican officials to facilitate his return.

He will remain detained pending the outcome of his immigration case and removal arrangements.
