ICE Boston’s Hartford field office arrested 43‑year‑old illegal Mexican alien Mauricio Castiano‑Rojas in Hartford on September 10 while he was already facing a long list of serious state charges. Hartford police had previously raided a Park Street storefront operating as an illegal bar and brothel disguised as a clothing shop called “Mi Ranchito,” where they arrested Castiano‑Rojas on August 13.

State charges against him include illegal sale of alcohol at a club or organization, promoting prostitution in the second degree, permitting prostitution, possession of a controlled substance, operating a drug factory, and possession with intent to distribute a narcotic substance. ICE records show that U.S. Border Patrol first arrested and returned him to Mexico on September 15, 2007, after an illegal entry, but he later reentered the United States unlawfully at an unknown time and place.

ICE lodged an immigration detainer on August 17, 2025, but the Connecticut Department of Corrections released him without notification, leading ICE officers to locate and arrest him again on September 10. He now remains in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
