On July 2025, ICE New Orleans arrested Miguel Angel Toj Arana, a citizen of Guatemala who is illegally present in the United States. Toj Arana has a criminal conviction for the sale of cocaine, a serious felony offense that contributes directly to the spread of illegal narcotics in American communities.

According to law enforcement records, Toj Arana was convicted after being caught selling cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance. The conviction stemmed from a case in which he distributed illegal drugs with intent to profit. His actions posed a direct threat to public safety and contributed to the ongoing opioid and drug crises impacting many areas across the country. He served time in state custody before being released and immediately targeted by ICE for removal.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers located and apprehended Toj Arana as part of a targeted enforcement initiative aimed at criminal aliens with felony drug convictions. He is currently in ICE custody and will remain detained pending his removal proceedings. Officers acted swiftly to ensure he would not be allowed to continue distributing narcotics or evade justice by ignoring immigration laws.

Toj Arana’s arrest removes a convicted drug dealer from the community and ensures he cannot continue engaging in criminal activity while illegally present in the United States.
