Misael Ramirez-Flores
Misael Ramirez-Flores/Honduras/Assault
Misael Ramirez-Flores, a 30-year-old citizen of Honduras and an illegal alien in the United States, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following recent criminal activity. Ramirez-Flores had been arrested by local authorities on charges of assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest. These offenses brought him to ICE’s attention for further immigration enforcement action.
Ramirez-Flores entered the United States illegally on an unknown date and without inspection. His encounter with local law enforcement in connection with a violent altercation involving a law enforcement officer triggered a review of his immigration status. ICE officers confirmed that he had no lawful immigration status and had not been granted any form of relief or protection in the United States.
Following his local arrest, ICE lodged an immigration detainer to ensure his transfer to federal custody upon release. After taking custody of Ramirez-Flores, ICE initiated formal removal proceedings. He is currently being held at a federal detention facility and will remain in ICE custody for the duration of his immigration case.
Given his unlawful presence and violent conduct, Ramirez-Flores has been prioritized for removal. ICE officers have begun the process of preparing his case for immigration court. If he is found removable and ineligible for any relief, he will be deported to Honduras following completion of proceedings.
