Miseal Pena/El Salvador/First-Degree Murder, Conspiracy To Commit Robbery With A Deadly Weapon

by G. George | December 31, 2025

Officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Baltimore arrested Miseal Pena, an illegal alien from El Salvador, immediately after his release from state prison. Pena had been serving time for convictions of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon. Despite receiving a life sentence in Maryland, he was released after serving only 20 years.

An ICE spokesman confirmed the arrest, stating that removing individuals with histories of lethal violence is a top priority. Officials noted that Pena will remain in federal custody without bond while his removal proceedings are finalized.

The case highlights the critical role of federal immigration enforcement when serious offenders are released early from state sentences. ICE continues to monitor release dates for noncitizens convicted of major felonies to ensure they face deportation rather than reintegration into the community.
